Description & More Pictures

This coach has been a part of our family since 1982. I had long been an admirer of the GMC with its futuristic styling and advanced engineering and always wanted to own one. In 1982, I discovered that they ceased production in 1978. I immediately went on a mission to acquire one. Though I didn’t realize it at the time, there were subtle differences about the three production series of the motorhome ’73-’74, ’75-’76 and ’77-’78. While the 1978 series was not a separate production run, it included several improvements that set it apart from the 77 series. The main ones are the ElectroLevel II suspension and dash A/C improvements. So it was that I found a 1978 Royale and purchased it with 13,000 miles on the odometer.

This coach has always been reliable. Except for one case where I misdiagnosed a failed thermostat, the coach has never been towed. It has only traveled throughout the Southeastern United States.

This coach has been maintained and upgraded to a very high level, while the excellent original engineering design has been retained. It is in excellent condition and ready to travel. Everything is in proper working order.

A copy of the yearly summary of maintenance work is available for review by any serious buyer.
