Description & More Pictures

I have listed this vehicle as Class B, but they are simply in a class by themselves being designed by an aircraft engineer and the only motorhome that was ever made by a major automobile manufacturer. One of the GMC RV’s was modified as the “EM-50” for the movie “Stripes” which starred Bill Murray. These vehicles are front wheel drive and they also have a lot of power. See YouTube and search for “GMC RV burnout.”

This vehicle has 76,000 miles. 455 Tornado Engine runs great. New ignition wires, spark plugs, cap, rotor, and ignition module, oil, oil filter, air filter. New top radiator hose, and most of the other heater hoses. Installed turn-off valves going to and coming from the rear water heater in the bathroom, and also to the front heater core which was serviced. New power steering hoses. New windshield wipers. New alternator and power steering belts. New battery in front, and two new RV batteries and cables in back. Onan 6000 generator works, and replaced it’s oil, oil filter, air filter, gas filter, spark plugs, wires, and gas lines. Gas tanks were dropped and the front tank was drained and flushed, and the rear tank was cleaned by a radiator shop. New gas lines and two gas filters installed near the engine on the passenger side. Refrigerator works. Exhaust solid. Brakes had been done by the previous owner and are fresh. Propane and stove works. Replaced the clean water tank, and the sink and shower work. Brand new BF Goodridge Tires from America’s Tires, and Ion Aluminum Wheels from Applied GMC in Fremont, CA. with 20 miles on them. 2” spacers from Applied GMC were added to front wheel mounts to improve tracking while driving. New rear suspension Mono Air Bags with individual turn off and external fill valves from Applied GMC. New stainless steel bolts on the front and rear bumpers. New GMC logos on front hood, and back of the vehicle. New external rubber trim for windows. Two air conditioning units. Roof Storage compartment. This 26′ vehicle is believed to be mechanically sound, and is ready to drive.

Have not installed a fan belt for the air conditioning unit or attempted to test the system. I am certain it would have to be recharged. The sun shade is there, but probably needs to be replaced. Have never unrolled it. The driver side windshield has a low rock hit and a crack starting and so at some point it should be replaced. Removed the dining room table and seats up front, and also the original carpeting. Cleaned and painted the floor in the back half of the vehicle.

My thought was to remove the hanging cabinets, install new cork flooring, side panels, headliner, cabinets, sink, a gas stovetop without an oven, and locate the bed in the back of the vehicle, but everyone has different ideas about how they want their RV to function and look. In sum, the hard and dirty mechanical work has been done, and the vehicle is ready to go. You could leave the inside of the vehicle stock, or change whatever you would like.
